Turn off monitor from command line

To turn off the monitor from the command line, we will use the xset tool. The available options are:

  • xset dpms force off –> Turns off the monitor
  • xset dpms force on –> Turns on the monitor
  • xset dpms force standby –> Puts the monitor in standby mode
  • xset dpms force suspend –> Suspends the monitor
